Israeli strikes across Gaza on Saturday, August 1st, 2026, killed at least four Palestinians and severely damaged medical supply warehouses adjacent to a hospital considered vital for the region's healthcare.

An Israeli drone attack killed two people in Gaza City’s Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, with casualties taken to al-Shifa Hospital, according to the Palestinian Wafa news agency. Gaza’s Health Ministry reported that two of four medical storage facilities were completely destroyed and two others badly damaged, condemning the strikes as a “heinous crime” and appealing for international protection of medical sites.

Al Jazeera’s Hani Mahmoud, reporting from Gaza, noted that Al-Aqsa Hospital remains one of the few central Gaza facilities capable of treating large numbers of patients, serving as a primary option for displaced families after months of conflict have degraded the territory's health system.

The attacks occurred days after Hamas and other Palestinian factions signed a disarmament agreement, which the United States described as a breakthrough toward ending the war. Over the past 48 hours, Gaza’s Health Ministry reported seven people killed and 76 wounded across the territory, with one additional death from earlier injuries.

Mohammed Abu Dan, who oversaw the operation, stated that 157 bodies remain missing, with some remains fused into concrete and rebar or destroyed by the force of explosions.
