William Shatner, the 95-year-old actor, disclosed a serious health scare where an initial doctor dismissed a lump on his face as a salivary gland issue. Shatner recalled on "CBS Mornings" that the doctor told him to "just massage it there." However, after a doctor friend urged him to seek further evaluation, a second opinion revealed a stage 4 malignant melanoma that had spread to his brain.

Shatner described how an oncologist told him, "We got to take that out now," emphasizing the urgency of the situation. He also recounted the moment the oncologist put his hands on his face and said, "You better get this out."

The actor's daughter, Melanie Shatner Gretsch, had also discovered a lump in her breast nearly a year before her father's diagnosis, with both battling stage 4 cancer at the same time.

Despite the health challenges, Shatner has remained active, with new books, a podcast, and music projects underway.
