Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley, collectively known as the Motor City Machine Guns, made their All Elite Wrestling (AEW) debut on the August 2nd, 2026 episode of "Collision" held in their hometown of Detroit. The duo immediately made an impact by aligning with the Bang Bang Gang after an eight-man tag team match.

In the match, the Bang Bang Gang—consisting of Austin Gunn, Colten Gunn, Ace Austin, and Juice Robinson—defeated Jon Moxley, Pac, Claudio Castagnoli, and Wheeler Yuta. Following their victory, the Bang Bang Gang was attacked by Clark Connors and David Finlay, prompting Sabin and Shelley to intervene and embrace the Bang Bang Gang in the ring.

Sabin expressed enthusiasm about joining AEW, stating, "Did you really think we wouldn’t be here? There’s no place we’d rather be in than the greatest city in civilization." He added, "The place we represented for 20 years. Because this is where the best wrestle."

The Motor City Machine Guns have a storied history with stops in WWE, Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA), Ring of Honor, and New Japan Pro-Wrestling. They previously won the WWE Tag Team Championship by defeating Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa of the Bloodline during WWE SmackDown at Barclays Center in New York City.

Sabin and Shelley stated they joined AEW because it is "where the best wrestle," putting the AEW tag team division on notice.
