Gordon Campbell, a 42-year-old homeowner near Glasgow, Scotland, had been puzzled by repeated disappearances of his milk deliveries for about a month. Suspecting foul play, Campbell installed a security camera to catch the thief, as reported by news agency SWNS.
The footage revealed a young fox trotting up to Campbell's doorstep, grabbing a glass bottle of milk in its mouth, knocking it over, and carrying it away. The incident occurred just after 2:30 a.m. on July 20, when the fox took the bait placed by Campbell.
Campbell had been receiving milk deliveries since the COVID-19 pandemic but temporarily stopped the service due to the repeated thefts, opting instead to purchase milk from the grocery store. He initially joked that the culprit might have been "a militant vegan" before discovering it was actually a fox. Upon seeing the animal's big ears and wee face, Campbell said all was forgiven.
The discovery ended the mystery of the missing milk bottles that had frustrated Campbell for weeks.
