Modest Mouse announced on social media last week that guitarist Simon O'Connor, who joined the band in 2021, will no longer be part of their upcoming tour. Seth Jabour of Les Savy Fav will replace him on guitar.

The decision follows allegations shared on Reddit last month by a 16-year-old female fan who posted screenshots claiming O'Connor sent her an "erotic image" and a series of direct messages after she interacted with his Instagram stories. The accuser stated that the Instagram story O'Connor viewed was a countdown to her 17th birthday, which she said was clearly indicated.

O'Connor responded to the incident, explaining that he "assumed" he was communicating with the same person as before and admitted to sending a tasteless meme and messages in poor judgment. He denied any sexual behavior towards minors and expressed disgust at such conduct, emphasizing his stance as both a human and a parent.

The band expressed their anticipation for the tour with the new lineup, stating, "We look forward to being out there with you all."
