Around 400 people displaced from Rome's Spin Time building have been sleeping on the street after a fire forced them to leave the occupied property. The former public office building, occupied since 2013 by low-income families and individuals struggling with rising housing costs, has been inaccessible since the fire on July 29, with police blocking entry and residents awaiting a solution.

Footage shows residents resting on camping beds, children playing in inflatable pools, and volunteers providing meals and medical support amid a heatwave. Volunteer doctors have expressed concern about the impact of the heat and uncertainty on vulnerable groups, including elderly residents and children.

Discussions are ongoing regarding a possible agreement that would allow Rome's city government to use the building for public housing. Meanwhile, residents continue living outside near the building's entrance.
