Florida deputies arrested a Canadian woman after a traffic stop in Tampa revealed she gave a false name and possessed multiple fraudulent identification cards. Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister released bodycam footage from July 29 showing deputies stopping a vehicle due to non-functioning taillights and tag lights.
The driver, 28-year-old Bryce Swanson, initially identified herself as "Brianna Valenzuela" and claimed to have a driver's license, though she did not have it with her. During questioning, Swanson said she was visiting Florida from New York in a rental vehicle and later admitted she did not have an ID and had never possessed a valid driver's license.
A search of Swanson's vehicle uncovered 12 driver's licenses bearing her picture but with different names and birthdates. Authorities noted Swanson is a Canadian national who overstayed her visa.
The bodycam footage captures deputies questioning Swanson's inconsistent story, with one deputy stating, "Your story's not making a lot of sense to me, right?" and pointing out the absence of any New York identification.
Swanson was charged following the discovery of the fraudulent IDs.
