Saranchuluun Otgon, one of Mongolia’s first two lawmakers with a disability, highlighted the evolving political landscape during a tour of the capital with its mayor to assess accessibility last year. This experience underscored for her how much the country’s politics have changed.

However, Otgon also expressed a sense of distance from established power structures, stating that the "people in power seemed too far to reach." Despite the opening of doors for political outsiders, there is now a renewed push to tighten rules within the parliament, reflecting ongoing tensions between new political actors and traditional party politics.
