Saranchuluun Otgon, one of Mongolia's first two lawmakers with a disability, highlighted the ongoing challenges by reflecting on her experience touring Ulaanbaatar with the city's mayor to test accessibility last year. This experience underscored for her how much the country's politics have changed, yet she noted that the "people in power seemed too far to reach."

Despite the opening of political space, a new push is underway to tighten rules, suggesting a resurgence of traditional party politics within Mongolia's new-look parliament.
