Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has outlined conditions for reopening the Strait of Hormuz, demanding an end to the US naval blockade and compensation for war damages. The strategic waterway, vital for global oil shipments, has been a focal point of tension between Iran and the United States.

Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian expressed hope that ongoing talks with Oman will produce positive outcomes for the Strait of Hormuz. He called for the country to move beyond the current state of “neither war nor peace.”

Meanwhile, the US is seeking commitments to halt attacks on ships passing through the waterway, as part of efforts to ease tensions in the region. The Pentagon is reportedly accelerating changes in its approach to Iran, including seeking lower-cost weapons amid the ongoing conflict dynamics.

The developments come amid heightened geopolitical tensions, with both sides engaging in diplomatic and military maneuvers related to control and security of the Strait of Hormuz.
