The all-electric Formula E racing series announced on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, a multi-year global streaming partnership with Disney+ and ESPN. This deal will cover 144 countries and begin with the 2026-27 season in December.
Formula E Chief Executive Jeff Dodds described the agreement as a "landmark moment" for the Liberty Global-owned championship. He added, "Disney's unrivalled global reach and storytelling will introduce Formula E to millions of new fans."
Disney+ subscribers worldwide will have access to live coverage of every session during race weekends, as well as behind-the-scenes content and race replays on demand. The deal complements Formula E's existing free-to-air and linear broadcast partnerships, ensuring broad accessibility.
The 2026-27 season marks the start of Formula E's new GEN4 era, featuring a more powerful car capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in approximately 1.8 seconds, which is faster than a Formula One car.
The current Formula E season is concluding in London this weekend with the drivers' title still undecided. Notably, Apple has replaced Walt Disney's ESPN as the official U.S. broadcaster for Formula One in a five-year deal starting this season.
