Northern Territory police have charged a 27-year-old man from Alice Springs after he allegedly made over 12,000 phone calls across Australia targeting women and making sexual threats.
According to NT Police, the alleged behaviour began on June 19, 2026, but was not reported until July 29, when the phone number was identified as being located in Alice Springs. Southern Investigations took carriage of the matter.
Police identified and arrested the man on August 11, 2026, seizing his mobile phone. He has been charged with five counts under the Commonwealth charge of using a carriage service to harass, menace, or cause offence. The man was placed on remand and appeared in Alice Springs Local Court on August 12, 2026.
NT Police have urged any other victims of the alleged offending to come forward, stating, "The [NT Police Force] believes more victims may have been impacted. Anyone who has received threatening messages, phone calls or voicemails are urged to contact police on 131 444. Please quote reference NTP2600072674."
