The 2026 Emmy nominations were announced in the early hours of July 9 (Australian time), recognizing the best television from June 1, 2025, to May 31, 2026. Law & Order: SVU star Mariska Hargitay will host this year's awards ceremony, becoming the first woman to do so since Jane Lynch in 2011.
Widow's Bay, a workplace comedy with supernatural horror elements, narrowly missed full eligibility due to three episodes falling outside the nomination window. Despite this, the show received 19 nominations, including a Best Comedy nod and acting nominations for lead Matthew Rhys and supporting actors Stephen Root, Kate O'Flynn, and Dale Dickey.
Another comedy series, centered on stand-up and female friendship, earned 24 nominations for its fifth and final season, setting a new record for the most nominations for a single comedy season in Emmy history. Additionally, actors Meg Stalter and Paul W Downs received acting nominations for their performances.
Connor Storrie earned his first Emmy nomination, though not for his work on Heated Rivalry, which remains ineligible this year. The Bear's nominations reflect its fourth season, as the fifth season was released too recently to qualify.
The Emmy awards ceremony is scheduled for Monday, September 15 (Australian time), when winners will be announced.
