Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC), Democratic Representative from New York, voiced her support for advocates of the Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) movement, emphasizing that their fight transcends partisan lines. Speaking on "The Majority Report with Sam Seder" podcast on August 1, 2026, she acknowledged the "ton of anxiety" experienced by minority and low-income groups regarding the U.S. healthcare system.

"I work with MAHA advocates, because a lot of them really don't believe that their fight is partisan — and it's not in many ways," Ocasio-Cortez said. She also pointed to "extraordinary corruption in our agricultural system, in our big corporate system as well," and noted that "this is an area where both parties — and our entire political system — has been compromised."

Ocasio-Cortez recalled her early efforts in Congress, including participation in investigations into the dumping of PFAS (Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances), environmental contaminants linked to health risks.
