Democratic strategist James Carville has declared he will leave the Democratic Party if far-left streamer Hasan Piker rises to prominence within it. Speaking on "The Sunday Briefing," Carville stated, "I am not going to be in the same party with Hasan Piker. If he becomes a force in a Democratic Party, I'm out of here. I have no intention of ever being in the same political party with that guy."

Hasan Piker, a self-described socialist and Twitch streamer, has gained attention as a leading voice on the left, campaigning alongside Democratic Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed. Piker has faced renewed scrutiny after viewers noticed a framed newspaper front page from September 12, 2001, in his background during a stream.

Piker drew widespread criticism in 2019 after stating "America deserved 9/11" during a stream. He later clarified in an interview that he did not mean America deserved the attacks but was critiquing U.S. foreign policy.

Additionally, Piker recently named Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) as his preferred Democratic presidential candidate for 2028. He argued there is "0% chance" the Democratic nominee will be pro-Israel in "any way, shape or form," citing polling data showing declining support for Israel among Democrats.

The situation underscores growing tensions within the Democratic Party as democratic socialists gain influence.
