Wall Street firms and other organizations can now subscribe to a new service on Truth Social that provides faster access to President Donald Trump's social media posts, potentially impacting market movements.
Launched on Saturday, August 1st, 2026, the subscription offers alerts for new posts from Trump and other top accounts before they are available to general users. The service, called "Truth API," was introduced by Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG), the owner of Truth Social. It is described as a "direct, licensed, real-time feed of the platform’s most market-moving Truths."
Trump, who has the largest following on Truth Social with 13 million followers, has frequently used the platform during his second term to release official statements, including announcements on tariffs and military operations. This approach contrasts with prior presidents, who typically used formal channels like the White House press office.
Many trading firms already monitor Trump's posts through services like Bloomberg and Reuters, which scrape and relay his content in real time. Kevin McGurn, interim CEO of TMTG, stated, “Markets already move on Truth Social posts. Truth API delivers a direct, licensed, real-time feed of the platform’s most market-moving Truths while advancing our strategy to monetize proprietary assets through a high-margin, recurring revenue stream.”
Trump is a major stakeholder in TMTG, owning 114.75 million shares, representing 41% of the company according to his 2025 financial disclosure.
Background context includes Trump launching Truth Social in early 2022 after being banned from X (formerly Twitter) and other platforms in 2021 following the January Capitol attacks. Elon Musk reinstated Trump's access to X in November 2022 shortly after becoming CEO of the platform.
