LOS ANGELES — Jeanine John Taele, 38, a resident of Downey in the Los Angeles area, was arrested Sunday, August 3rd, 2026, at the Trump National Golf Course in Rancho Palos Verdes, California, after deputies found illegal weapons in his home and vehicle, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reported Tuesday, August 5th.

Deputies were alerted by plainclothes federal agents about a suspicious individual at 3:28 p.m. Taele was observed walking around the golf course grounds taking photographs and videos, appearing to monitor security-planning activities ahead of a planned presidential visit. Upon contact, deputies found a loaded magazine with hollow-point bullets in his pants pocket and a loaded pistol in his vehicle parked at the club.

Further investigation revealed Taele was under investigation for a 2025 robbery in El Segundo, California. A search of his home on Monday uncovered an illegally modified AR platform rifle, a .45-caliber pistol, body armor, high-capacity magazines, and additional ammunition.

Taele was arrested on suspicion of carrying a concealed firearm and possession of armor-piercing or otherwise prohibited ammunition. He has been charged in connection with both the 2025 robbery and the recent incident at the golf course.

Former President Trump arrived at the golf resort by Marine One helicopter around 5:07 p.m. local time on Tuesday, August 5th.
