An oil tanker passing through the Strait of Hormuz near Oman reported hearing two explosions on Thursday, according to a British maritime agency.

Earlier, Iran announced it is in the final stages of drafting an agreement with Oman concerning the Strait of Hormuz. US President Donald Trump suggested that a deal could be announced within days or this week.

US Vice President JD Vance acknowledged the complexity of progress in Iran, describing efforts to end the war as "messy" and stating that "it’s going to take some time."

Meanwhile, the Iranian-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen claimed they fired ballistic missiles toward a Saudi oil tanker on the Red Sea off the Saudi port of Yanbu, though no evidence was provided.

In southern Lebanon, the fragile ceasefire between Israel and the Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah became more volatile. The Israeli military issued an evacuation warning to residents of the southern Lebanese village of Mansouri, the first such warning in weeks.

Later on Wednesday, the Israeli military began conducting "precise strikes" in southern Lebanon, citing "a blatant violation of the ceasefire" that had largely held since June 20.
