President Donald Trump’s decade in national politics has been marked by a series of assassination threats and attempts, ranging from a 2016 rally gun grab to a recent armed breach at his golf club.

On July 13, 2024, Trump was whisked away by the Secret Service after shots rang out at a campaign rally at Butler Farm Show Inc. in Butler, Pennsylvania. Two years later, on April 25, 2026, armed Secret Service agents responded to a shooting incident at the annual White House Correspondents Association Dinner in Washington, D.C.

Most recently, authorities arrested Jeanine John Taele, an armed man, at Trump National Golf Club in Rancho Palos Verdes, California. Investigators recovered an illegally modified AR-platform rifle, a 1911 .45-caliber pistol, an AR-platform upper receiver, body armor, high-capacity magazines, bulk pistol and rifle ammunition, two radio signal devices, and multiple notebooks containing what authorities described as "concerning statements."

Retired FBI special agent James Gagliano analyzed the items recovered, underscoring the seriousness of the threat.

Other notable incidents include Pascale Ferrier mailing a threatening letter containing homemade ricin to Trump at the White House during the 2020 presidential campaign.

Authorities expressed gratitude for the cooperation between the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and the Joint Terrorism Task Force in advancing investigative and protective missions related to these threats.
