On Friday, August 7th, 2026, in Sydney Local Court, a man identified as Complainant J testified in the ongoing trial of Alan Jones, who faces multiple charges of historical indecent assault. The complainant, now in his 40s, alleged that during a visit to Jones's Fitzroy Falls property in 2004, when he was a teenager, Jones instructed him to "wear a robe and nothing else."

Complainant J told the court he followed Jones's alleged direction to have a shower and come out in a robe because he did not want to disappoint him. The 85-year-old Jones is accused of assaulting the complainant on nine occasions in 2003 and 2004. Jones has pleaded not guilty to 20 counts of assault with an act of indecency and two counts of sexual touching relating to six alleged victims between 2003 and 2020.

During cross-examination, barrister Gabrielle Bashir questioned why the complainant did not stop the alleged behaviour and why he complied with the robe instruction despite prior assaults that day. Bashir asked, "You must have understood that this was some kind of suggestion of getting ready for sexual activity?" The complainant responded that he put on the robe but also wore underwear and then returned to sit with Jones.

The complainant also acknowledged receiving weekly payments from Jones to support his sporting career and expressed gratitude for the financial assistance, not wanting it to cease.

A witness also alleged he complied with a robe request because he did not want to disappoint Alan Jones.

Alan Jones denies all allegations.
