On Friday, August 7th, 2026, in Sydney Local Court, a man identified as Complainant J gave evidence in the trial of Alan Jones, who is accused of historical indecent assault. The complainant, now in his 40s, alleged that during a visit to Jones's Fitzroy Falls property in 2004, when he was a teenager, Jones instructed him to "wear a robe and nothing else."

The 85-year-old Jones faces charges including 20 counts of assault with an act of indecency and two counts of sexual touching, relating to six alleged victims between 2003 and 2020. Complainant J alleges Jones assaulted him on nine occasions in 2003 and 2004.

During cross-examination by barrister Gabrielle Bashir, the complainant explained he followed Jones's alleged direction to have a shower and come out in a robe because he did not want to disappoint him. Bashir questioned why he did not stop the alleged behaviour earlier and why he complied with the robe request despite previous assaults that day. She asked, "You must have understood that this was some kind of suggestion of getting ready for sexual activity?"

The complainant also stated he put on underwear beneath the robe before returning to sit with Jones. He previously mentioned receiving weekly payments from Jones to support his sporting career and expressed gratitude for the financial help, not wanting it to cease.

A witness also alleged compliance with the robe request was due to not wanting to disappoint Jones.

Alan Jones has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
