LIV Golf has faced significant upheaval this year after the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) announced it would cease financial backing for the tour following the current season. The league's future has been questioned due to the high prize pools and individual player contracts that have raised concerns among participants.

Several LIV Golf events have been canceled, including the New Orleans stop and a team championship scheduled in Michigan. Amid this turmoil, Bryson DeChambeau addressed the situation after a recent tournament, stating that Yasir Al-Rumayyan, head of the Saudi PIF, wanted to have "conversations" with former President Donald Trump at the LIV Golf New York event.

DeChambeau expressed his pleasure at seeing Al-Rumayyan back at an event and praised the PIF's contributions, saying, "I think he's done wonders for us and the global game of golf. I think there's a great place for the PIF and where they want to be moving forward."

He also commented on the difficulty of the golf course, admitting, "I got my butt kicked this week, that's for sure."

The LIV Golf CEO has attempted to quell speculation about the tour's demise by announcing a new investor to maintain operations into 2027. However, reports continue to signal that the end of LIV Golf may be imminent as Saudi Arabia prepares to cut off funding.
