GUANGZHAO — Chinese home appliance manufacturer Midea Group has experienced a significant surge in sales of its portable air conditioners in Europe during the first half of 2026. The company shipped 200,000 no-installation PortaSplit units from January through June, doubling the total shipments for the entire year of 2025.
The increase in demand is attributed to the ease of use of the PortaSplit units and the sweltering summer temperatures across Europe. These Chinese-made air conditioners have become a popular solution for consumers seeking quick and portable cooling options.
This sales growth highlights Midea’s expanding footprint in the European market amid rising consumer demand for convenient cooling appliances.
