Ronald Williams Sr., a registered sex offender in Kansas, allegedly killed Kelly George and their four children inside their Winfield home before making a chilling 911 call on Tuesday morning, August 12, 2026. Authorities said Williams told the dispatcher that he had killed his entire family and was preparing to kill himself.

Police officers, who were working a traffic crash about two blocks away, responded immediately to the scene, according to Police Chief Robbie DeLong. The incident followed weeks of police encounters with Williams over what was described as "erratic behavior."

Williams had a lengthy criminal history under multiple aliases, including felony charges for drugs, battery, assault on a law enforcement officer, burglary, attempted rape, and kidnapping, with cases dating from 1995 through 2024. He was required to register as a sex offender in Kansas.

Chief DeLong said, "In my 20-plus years here, no, I can't remember anything remotely close to this."

Community members expressed shock and sorrow. One said, "I just felt so sad and heartbroken for that family," while another questioned, "How do you kill your own family? How do you do that? I just don't get it." Another added, "Because I just can't imagine what that man was thinking to do that. I just can't."

The tragedy has raised concerns about community and systemic failures, with remarks that "Somebody in this community failed that family. Failed him and that family."
