A Perth paediatrician, Chia Liang Saw, 41, who allegedly recorded himself abusing children at his clinics, has been charged with an additional 15 child sex offences involving seven more alleged victims. This brings the total charges against him to 72, relating to 18 alleged victims, following an extensive police investigation.

Dr Saw was first charged on May 30, 2026, after police became aware of his alleged communications with a self-described "paedophile vigilante," whom his lawyer said had "taken on the persona of a child." He last appeared in court in early July 2026, accused of more than 50 offences.

The new charges include six counts of indecent dealing with a child under 13 years old, three counts of sexual penetration of a child under 13 years old, and one count of producing child exploitation material. Five additional charges relate to allegations that Dr Saw indecently recorded children.

In June 2026, Dr Saw was accused of using hidden cameras to record himself abusing children at his consulting rooms located in Nedlands, in Perth's west, and Midland, in Perth's east. These clinics primarily treated children with behavioural issues.

Police prosecutors informed the court in June that Dr Saw's alleged victims, who then numbered 10, were mainly young female patients aged between 12 and 15 years old.

Dr Saw's defence lawyer stated that the recordings made in the clinics were intended to protect him from allegations of "untoward behaviour."
