A man accusing broadcaster Alan Jones of historical indecent assault testified in Sydney Local Court on Friday, August 7th, 2026, that he followed Jones' alleged direction to have a shower and come out wearing a robe because he did not want to disappoint him.

The complainant, referred to as Complainant J, alleges that Jones indecently assaulted him on nine occasions during 2003 and 2004. He also claimed that during a visit to Jones' Fitzroy Falls property in 2004, Jones asked him to wear "a robe and nothing else." At the time, Complainant J was 18 or 19 years old.

Under cross-examination by barrister Gabrielle Bashir, Complainant J acknowledged some uncertainty about his exact age during the first alleged assault, agreeing he may have been 18 rather than 17 as initially stated. Jones, aged 85, has pleaded not guilty to 20 counts of assault with an act of indecency and two counts of sexual touching involving six alleged victims between 2003 and 2020.

Jones' legal team questioned why Complainant J did not stop the alleged behavior and why he complied with the instruction to wear a robe despite previous assaults that day. Ms Bashir asked, "You must have understood that this was some kind of suggestion of getting ready for sexual activity?" She also suggested multiple times that Complainant J may have fabricated his story after reading media reports about similar allegations.

Complainant J previously stated he received weekly payments from Jones to support his sporting career and was grateful for the money, not wanting it to stop. Ms Bashir questioned, "[Mr Jones] never said he'd pull the money if you didn't do what he wanted, did he?"

The trial continues as the court examines the allegations and testimonies.
