Several of Taylor Swift’s songs have been removed from videos posted on social media by Donald Trump’s campaign and the White House, ending efforts to mock the singer using her music.

A video posted on August 3, 2026, featuring President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump watching fireworks was shared on TikTok with Swift’s song "August" as the soundtrack. The post included the text: “I’m sure @Taylor Swift is going to be super excited we used her song! #taylorswift #maga #august.”

Trump’s campaign also published another post mocking Swift over the title of her 2012 album, Red, with the caption: “Did you know Taylor Swift wrote a whole album about the color of the Republican party?” suggesting parody track titles.

Other campaign videos had used Swift’s music but have since been muted. Trump’s social media accounts have used songs from various pop stars, including Ariana Grande, Katy Perry, Sabrina Carpenter, Olivia Rodrigo, and Kenny Loggins, often as "rage bait."

Several artists publicly objected to the use of their music. Ariana Grande posted, “Please do not use my music in relation to this barbaric, inhumane, heinous nonsense,” after the White House used her song over a montage of ICE agents detaining people.

Trump had previously attacked Swift after she endorsed then-Democratic vice-president Kamala Harris during the 2024 election, declaring, “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!”

Taylor Swift’s Eras tour remains the highest-grossing tour of all time, generating approximately $2.2 billion worldwide, according to Pollstar.
