Some of Taylor Swift’s songs have been removed from videos posted on social media by Donald Trump’s campaign and the White House, ending attempts to mock the singer. A video posted on August 3, 2026, featuring the US president and first lady Melania Trump watching fireworks was shared on TikTok with Swift’s song "August." The post included the text, “I’m sure @Taylor Swift is going to be super excited we used her song! #taylorswift #maga #august.”

Trump’s campaign also published a post mocking Swift over her 2012 album "Red," stating, “Did you know Taylor Swift wrote a whole album about the color of the Republican party?” and suggesting parody track titles. Other campaign videos featuring Swift’s music have also had their sound removed.

Trump’s social media accounts have used songs from various pop stars, including Ariana Grande, Katy Perry, Sabrina Carpenter, Olivia Rodrigo, and Kenny Loggins, often as rage bait. All these artists publicly objected to the use of their music. Ariana Grande, for example, posted, “Please do not use my music in relation to this barbaric, inhumane, heinous nonsense,” after the White House used her music over footage of ICE agents detaining people.

Donald Trump had previously criticized Swift, who endorsed Democratic vice-president Kamala Harris during the 2024 election, declaring, “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!”

Swift’s Eras tour is noted as the highest-grossing tour of all time, generating approximately $2.2 billion worldwide, according to Pollstar.
