Courtney Clenney, a former OnlyFans model, settled the civil lawsuit filed by the family of her late boyfriend, Christian Obumseli, months after her August 2022 arrest. The civil case was formally closed just days before Clenney’s attorneys announced on July 31, 2026, that she had reached a plea agreement with prosecutors in the second-degree murder charge related to Obumseli’s death.

Clenney, 30, is charged with second-degree murder in the death of 27-year-old Obumseli, who was fatally stabbed in the Miami apartment they shared on April 3, 2022. The broader civil lawsuit involved several companies connected to the couple’s apartment building but was resolved as to Clenney only.

Her attorneys have stated that the plea deal terms are not final until accepted by the court. Clenney is expected to appear in court on Monday, August 10, 2026, when the agreement will be presented to the judge.

A photo circulated showing Clenney’s mugshot from a July 2021 Las Vegas battery arrest alongside her arrest in Hawaii for the alleged murder of Obumseli. During a detention hearing, prosecutors played Clenney’s 911 call as they detailed their evidence, while defense attorneys sought her release on bail.
