Donald Trump Jr. stated on July 10, 2026, that unsealed evidence from the preliminary hearing in the murder case of Charlie Kirk has effectively put to rest conspiracy theories surrounding Kirk’s death. Trump Jr., a longtime friend of Kirk, was present in the courtroom in Provo, Utah, where he heard arguments and reviewed evidence against Tyler Robinson, the accused killer.
Robinson, 23, is charged with fatally shooting Kirk, 31, at Utah Valley University in September. According to testimony from the hearing, Robinson allegedly admitted in text messages to his roommate that he "had enough of his hatred."
"Based on everything that I saw in that courtroom, it's very clear to me that Tyler Robinson did this," Trump Jr. said on "Jesse Watters Primetime." He described the evidence as "very cut-and-dry at this point," noting that the unsealed information has shifted public opinion from a "50–50" split to "90–10," with most now believing Robinson is guilty.
A composite image presented during the hearing included screenshots of text messages prosecutors introduced and testimony from Robinson’s former roommate, Lance Twiggs. DNA evidence allegedly links both Robinson and Twiggs to key evidence in the case.
While dismissing conspiracy theories, Trump Jr. acknowledged why some people might remain skeptical. He also raised concerns about campus security, questioning why only six police officers were active during a major university event.
